CNAME Record
Read more about CNAME records, when they are essential and in what ways they fit inside the DNS system.
There are several ways to redirect a domain to a different domain or subdomain and one of them is by setting up a CNAME record. When you own a domain and you've set up a website through some on-line service that provides you with a service subdomain, you can easily link the two by creating a CNAME record for your-domain.com that redirects to subdomain.provider.com. What you're going to achieve by doing this is that www.your-domain.com is going to be in the browser address bar while it opens the already mentioned website from the servers of the third-party provider. It is very important to know that if you create a CNAME record, any other records your domain may have will stop working, so you can't have both a CNAME record directing to one provider and working email addresses with another. The CNAME record is always an alpha string, not a number, and sometimes additional configuration may be necessary with the other company.

CNAME Records in Semi-dedicated Servers
The Hepsia hosting Control Panel, which comes with each of our
semi-dedicated server accounts, will permit you to set up a CNAME record with ease. When you want to create a private URL for your e-mails, to redirect a domain name to a subdomain inside the account or to forward a domain address to another provider and use some third-party service that they provide, it will not require more than 3 clicks to set up this sort of record. All DNS records for the domain addresses and subdomains hosted in the semi-dedicated account will be listed in a separate section in the CP, so when you are there, all that you will have to do will be to pick the type of the record that you want to set up and the hostname for which you are creating it, and then input the actual record text. For your convenience, you can watch a short video within the Control Panel regarding how to create a CNAME record or you can refer to the instructions in the help article, that is available in the DNS records section.
